On Monday, Sept. 13, U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges 2022 Guidebook” ranked Florida State University’s College of Business as one of the top business schools in the nation.

The college ranked No. 1 nationally for the Dr. William T. Hold/The National Alliance Program in Risk Management and Insurance. Previously, the program ranked No. 3 for public schools and No. 5 for all schools nationally, in both 2021 and 2020. The program educates students on financial planning, enterprise risk management, employee benefits and life and health insurer operations and products, as well as property and casualty operations and products.

“A No. 1 ranking for the risk management and insurance program is well-deserved,” President Richard McCullough said in a press release. “This recognition reflects the rising reputation of the program, the College of Business and Florida State University. We are grateful for Dr. Hold and The National Alliance’s contributions and vision as they helped to advance the program in achieving this distinction.”

The college’s Real Estate program ranked No. 5 among public schools and No. 8 nationally, maintaining its spot in the guidebook from the previous year. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) specialty in real estate also received a Top 10 ranking among public schools.

Additionally, the College of Business received Top 20 honors among public schools with Marketing ranking No. 17 and Management Information Systems ranking No. 16, as well as Top 25 placement with Management at No. 22 and Accounting at No. 24.

“We remain honored to count ourselves among the business schools in the country,” Micheal Hartline, the dean of the College of Business, said in a press release. “We continue to focus on innovation, individual attention and especially preeminence.”

Hartline continued to say that the college maintains its commitment to providing academically rigorous programs and life-changing opportunities.

The college is also the home of the Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance (MS-RMI), which is consistently ranked in the Top 10 on U.S. News’s annual list of best online graduate business programs.

The rankings are simply more good news for the College of Business, which expects to see construction begin on Legacy Hall, its future home, in 2022. The $88 million facility will likely allow the college to continue to flourish, marking itself as a flexible and collaborative space for teaching, research and learning.

“Now more than ever, I’m so proud to be part of the business college here at the university,” said Samuel Krytzmyre, a junior in the College of Business.

Krytzmyre continued to state that he believes the high rankings are a true reflection of the program.

“All the professors truly care about their students and will go to great lengths to make sure their students have a great experience here,” Krytzmyre said.

Overall, the College of Business ranks No. 41 among public schools and No. 64 nationally. Florida State University remained in the Top 20 national universities for the third year in a row with a ranking of No. 19.

“Even as we continue to work through these challenging times, we in the College of Business carry a tangible sense of excitement and optimism,” Hartline said. “We see it in our students. We see it in our faculty and staff. We see it in our alumni, friends and donors, all of whom keep us on our path to preeminence.”
